This is the personal website of Navod Hansajith, a software engineer based in Galle, Sri Lanka. I run it myself and I am responsible for the data described here. Questions or requests: [email protected].
The site sets no cookies, shows no ads, does not record your screen and does not track you across other websites. I never sell or share your data for marketing.
Hosting and security
The site is served from my own server through a content delivery and security network. Like any website, they receive your IP address, browser details, the page you request and the page that linked to it, so the site can be delivered quickly and protected from abuse. My server logs are deleted after 14 days.
Analytics
I use cookieless analytics, mostly running on my own server, to understand how the site is used and to find problems. It records:
- the pages you view, how fast they load, and the website that sent you (its domain only)
- campaign tags in links I share, such as
utm_source; every other link parameter is removed first - your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language
- your approximate location: country, region and city
- a few actions, such as which sections you scroll to, whether you click “Get a quote”, open my LinkedIn or GitHub, or start and send the contact form
It never records what you type and does not store your IP address. Your IP address and browser details are used only to work out an approximate location and an anonymous visitor ID that changes every month. Analytics data is deleted after 12 months.
The analytics on my own server does not run if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. You can also turn it off for this browser:
Contact form
When you send the contact form, your name, email address, chosen service and message are delivered to my inbox by an email delivery service, which also sends you an automatic confirmation. I use them only to reply to you.
Messages are kept for 2 years after our last exchange, then deleted, or sooner if you ask.
Stored in your browser
- Your light or dark mode choice, if you change it.
- That you turned analytics off, if you do.
Both stay in your browser and are removed when you clear this site’s data.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what data I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. I reply within 30 days. Analytics data is not linked to your name or email, so I usually cannot single out your visits.
